Purpose of the section
The purpose of this section is to share with you my 45 years of nutritional and health knowledge. Through these several decades, I have helped many, many family and friends with natural alternative health. I am not a doctor so I will not respond to any health related emails. I am just posting the knowledge I have accumulated since I was 15 and sharing it with you.

I will post articles on the blog about research that benefits your health. Some of it can be life saving. In the last few years, there has been an explosion of alternative health knowledge that can greatly increase the quality of your health. It can protect you from horrible diseases. I believe that God is providing the nutritional knowledge to protect our heath in the time we now live.
God is a good God and wants us to live in health as Psalm 103 shows. If you follow the modern lifestyle and medical system, it can lead to horrible diseases and even an early death. You have to protect your health, and you cannot place it in the hands of others.
I believe that you cannot trust the medical establishment to get beneficial nutritional information. They seem to mock and belittle the idea that there are natural cures to diseases and natural ways to protect yourself. If you suffer from an injury, the hospitals and doctors do a great job. The problem lies with doctors using nutrition to prevent and cure diseases. To me, the medical establishment is more like a cult with a closed mind. It seems to take decades, if ever, for any beneficial alternative health information to penetrate the medical establishment. When the establishment does acknowledge a nutritional help, they act like it just was found by them!
The medical establishment, including the FDA, is in bed with the drug companies. There are $ billions involved and the drug companies have the money and power to suppress the nutritional knowledge you need to stay healthy. Vitamins are natural and cannot be patented; therefore, there is not a great profit for the drug companies in natural health remedies. They want you on drugs because of the great profit. For example, there is little profit in using Vitamin E to treat a blood or vascular problem. Vitamin E is very inexpensive compared to drugs. This sounds awful, but I am convinced this refusal by the medical establishment to embrace alternative medicine is mainly due to profit.
The combination of the mentality of the medical profession and the greed of the drug companies has blocked fantastic health information from getting to the public in general. You have to dig for it, but the information is out there. I believe this medical system is so corrupt that eventually the FDA will move to shut down alternative medicine. They have already tried, but were stopped, I believe twice, in Congress. They are well down the road to stopping alternative medicine in Europe . The internet is the great tool in doing an end run around this censorship.
I am personally friends with a doctor who is one of the leading researchers on the effect of the birth control pill on women. He has conclusively proved the link between the pill and breast cancer and other problems. He was pressured not to publish his research or he would be black listed. He published and the medical establishment ignored his findings. Remember, the birth control pill is worth $ billions in sales.
There are many good doctors but the important nutritional information is not getting to them or it is being distorted. Blocking the truth about Vitamin E is the perfect example of the distortion of the medical establishment.
As long as I can remember studying about the health, there was a direct link between natural Vitamin E and vascular health. There must be 100s of studies through the decades proving this link. In 2007 there was a study done by the medical establishment of synthetic Vitamin E. The study found that this type Vitamin E was not useful for your health and possibly even detrimental.
This study was widely published and picked up by many doctors. For years it was known in the alternative health field that synthetic E was useless and that only natural E was beneficial. Many people who could greatly benefit from taking natural Vitamin E are now afraid to, or think it is of no benefit because of this study of synthetic E. The medical establishment in this study made no distinction between natural and synthetic E and thereby made all Vitamin E look of no use! I see this as disingenuous at best.
If the democrats win the election, it is very evident that the USA will come under socialized medicine. You expect Congress and the FDA to lead the charge in herding everyone into their system “for our own good.” Now is the time to set the foundation for your health so you do not need that system.
It is very important that everyone realize they are responsible for their own health, and do not leave your health to medical establishment. I learned at a very early age that I was responsible for my health and no one else.
When I was about 15 my step-father developed pains in his chest and had difficulty breathing. He went to his doctor and was diagnosed with bronchitis. He was treated for about six weeks but steadily got worse. I remember him walking around; rubbing is chest and spitting blood. We went to different doctors, and I suggested that he to go to my doctor for a second opinion. After several visits to his doctor, he finally went to mine. My doctor listened to his heart and immediately called for an ambulance and took him directly to the hospital. He was suffering from congestive heart failure! He had suffered severe heart damage and only lived for two more years. He died of a massive heart attack at 39 years of age. How could a doctor miss this condition for six weeks!
The following year my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and died shortly afterward. His doctor had treated him for all sorts of ailments and finally after more than a year took an x-ray. By this time the cancer was so advanced that nothing could be done to help him.
I was present when both died, and it was not a pretty sight. They both died at home a little more than a year apart. This left a lifetime impression on me. I realized not to trust doctors, but that I was responsible for my health. To this day, I do not trust doctors but investigate on my own to verify what the doctor is doing. I will not hesitate to directly challenge a doctor.
While all this was going on with the doctors, I read Dr Linus Pauling’s revolutionary research on vitamin C. This ignited my lifetime study of nutrition and health. I study nutrition just as a hobby. Through all these years, I have seen many fads and frauds in the nutrition field. There are far less today than years ago, as the fraud is soon exposed and quickly disappears. There are many nutritional researchers today that can quickly expose a fraud.
In the early 1990s, I started a ministry called Bible Health Foods. I studied all the foods in the Bible and found how fantastic they were for our health. Many of these foods are listed below. It was sad because I had to end the ministry. People in general had no interest, especially Christians. Pastors claimed I was a legalist and people could eat whatever they wanted. In the end, I went back to helping family and friends. I found that most people do not care about nutrition until they are sick. It is unfortunate that this is the time when most people are willing to listen. Some have let their health deteriorate so far, that the sickness is irreversible.
I could list dozens of testimonies from people who I helped, but I am just going to give three.
I was raised for a good part of my life by my grandparents. After my grandfather passed away, I lived with my grandmother. Grandma had serious health issues from ulcers to phlebitis. She nearly died several times. I was learning about nutrition and was trying to “doctor” grandma. She would have none of it. She developed a serious problem with phlebitis and nearly had her left leg amputated. This scared her and she agreed to work with me. I immediately put her on 2000 IU of natural Vitamin E a day for a month and then 1000 IUs a day thereafter. Her leg cleared up quickly and she lived to be 89. She NEVER had another phlebitis attack. Before introducing her to Vitamin E she had numerous attacks. The difference was the Vitamin E.
Grandma even claimed the Vitamin E cleared up the psoriasis that really caused her discomfort. Grandma made sure there was always an extra Vitamin E jar in the house: she feared running out! Grandma always attributed the great improvement to her health to the Vitamin E she took.
In 1990, I was diagnosed with a benign irregular heart beat. It annoyed me but was not life threatening. The doctor wanted to put me on a Beta Blocker which I refused. After about two years, I came across information that a deficiency in the mineral selenium was a cause of an irregular heart beat. I immediately began taking selenium and in about two weeks the irregular beat stopped and never returned. I take a selenium supplement every day.
In 2005, I was feeling very sick. I wanted to sleep all the time and was sick after eating. I went to a nutritionist who diagnosed me with an under active thyroid. He treated me with natural supplements. The thyroid problem had affected my digestive system, especially my gall bladder. Also, my ph was way off. The doctor said I was the first patient he had seen at my age and in my condition that did not have diabetes and still had his gall bladder! Both my mother and grandmother had a thyroid problem, so it was a family problem that I inherited. Although it was a family line issue, I did not have to suffer like they did. My mother died at 59 because she failed to take care of the thyroid issue.
My diet contained very little sugar and every day I took 4 table spoons or more of olive oil. The doctor asked me about my diet and I told him. He said the sugar free diet saved me from diabetes and the olive oil saved my gall bladder. I fully recovered and feel great. My thyroid is functioning properly; I do not have diabetes; and I have my gallbladder. The only problem is I gained weight and cannot lose it.
The following are my nutritional suggestions. To me these are all tried and true. The information that follows is my nutritional lifestyle with some explanation. I do not go into great detail about technical terms, chemistry etc. There are many other wonderful nutritional items I could write about. I am not going to do this. The research I am posting on my blog under the heading, Update: Health and Nutrition, will give you all the detailed information you need.

After years of study and observation, I have come to the conclusion that Vitamin D is the most important nutritional factor for your body. This vitamin is made in our body with sun light. The further north you live the more you have to supplement with Vitamin D. We spend significant amount of time indoors and do not received enough sunlight. Age is a factor for both the young and old. Vitamin D touches so much of our body that I am not going to list them here. My first post on the blog will be how important Vitamin D is for our body. You will be amazed just as I was.
Olive oil is very important. Olive oil is a 75 percent monsaturated fat which is essential for the body. Olive oil is a key component of the Mediterranean diet, widely regarded as being protective against cardiovascular disease. Olive oil lowers the LDL cholesterol which is the dangerous form. It is tremendous for the digestive system. I take at least four table spoons a day. Olive is also proven to heal burns and wounds.
Carefully read the label of the Olive oil you purchase. You must use only virgin, cold pressed oil. This means the oil was obtained mechanically by pressing. Virgin means it was the first press. The olives that are heated and chemically treated to make the oil are useless for nutrition. It is alright to cook with but for health olive oil has to be cold pressed. This is the same for wounds and burns. Researchers found that only cold pressed oil was beneficial for healing. Burns healed 40 percent faster with less scaring when treated with olive oil.
When I was a youngster growing up in the 1950s, both my mother’s and grandmother’s health remedy was cod liver oil. Mom always kept a bottle in the kitchen cabinet. I was terrified when she went near where the cod liver oil was kept. Without warning, she would have a tablespoon in one hand and the bottle in the other. I would beg her not to make me take it. It was no use: my cries for mercy were unheard. Many a night I laid gagging in bed after being forced to down a table spoon of the most awful tasting health remedy imaginable!
Cod liver oil is foreign to most people today, but back then it was a remedy for health. The taste and smell of it was the most sickening thing I ever took. I would swallow it and gag. Sometimes she would make me take two tablespoons which was inhuman. I pleaded with her, but to no avail. She would say, it was good for me. I did not want to hear anything about good for me. I wanted to get as far away from cod liver oil as possible.
It turns out mom was right. The Omega-3’s in cod liver oil are tremendous for your health. The benefits of Omega-3 oils rival that of Vitamin D. Omega oils are needed for the brain to function properly. Many of the degenerative brain problems could be eliminated by taking these oils. There is a direct connection with the Omega-3s and brain function and health. I believe these oils can help people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and all sorts of mental related problems. There are no side effects from the Omega-3s so it cannot hurt for anyone with a brain disorder to take them. If you are depressed, trying taking Omega-3s, it might prove to greatly help you. The best way to look at the Omega-3s and the brain is to compare it with oil for an engine. Without oil, and engine ceases and stops. Without the Omega-3s the brain “ceases” and stops functioning.
The Omega-3s are wonderful for the blood and for keeping cholesterol low and balanced. These oils protect the heart and circulatory system from plaque build up. You must take the Omega-3s for your heart’s health. Pregnant women need the Omega-3s for a both her health and the baby’s.
The following is a partial list of what the Omega-3 oils can be used for: prevent depression, used to treat bipolar disorder, prevent preeclampsia, reduce premature births, protect baby’s brain, modulate anger, anxiety, fear, improve immunity, counteract autoimmune diseases, prevent and treat cancer, protect the brain, fight cardiovascular disease, prevent and treat arrhythmia, and combat stroke.
The Omega-3 oils are hard to come by in today’s diet. The diet is now overloaded with Omega-6 oils and other fats which are dangerous to the body. It is imperative that you limit the other fats and supplement your diet with Omega-3 oils. I recommend flaxseed oil, salmon oil or cod liver oil. Today the cod liver oil is tempered with lemon and it tastes great. It was only until recently that I would even think of letting cod liver oil near my lips. It is safe to take, if it is tempered with lemon: check the bottle to make sure before you purchase some.
I cannot finish this section without telling you how I obtained revenge on my mother. Mom liked to drink a glass of milk. One day I was in the kitchen, and she was sitting in the living room. She called and asked for a glass of milk. I was around 10 years old at this time. I got a glass and then poured some of the cod liver oil in the bottom of the glass. I then poured in the milk. I handed the glass to mom and took off. Next thing, mom was hollering at me and wanted to know what was in the milk. She was on her feet gagging and yelling at me.
She was so upset and angry that I was scared. I showed her the cod liver oil and told her what I had done. She was so angry at me, but I did get my revenge! I believe this might have cured mom, because around this time she stopped forcing me to drink the most awful thing you could put in your mouth.
Mom you were right and thanks for making me drink it!
Oatmeal and Wheat Germ
In addition to olive oil, oatmeal is tremendous for controlling cholesterol. The fiber in oatmeal, just like it a sponge, absorbs cholesterol in the blood. Regularly eating oatmeal is a great benefit to your health. I eat oatmeal nearly every day at breakfast with a toping of wheat germ. Wheat germ rapidly spoils, so it is removed from cereal as a by product! Cereal has a long self life when it does not contain wheat germ. Wheat germ must be refrigerated. It is loaded with vitamins, minerals and fats. It is a great source of natural Vitamin E. My breakfast contains oatmeal mixed with wheat germ and honey. I also will eat an egg.
I cannot say enough about real honey. Not the honey you purchase in the super market: this is heat processed and useless. Raw honey that has not been heated is an awesome food. (See Note about heated processed food.)
Raw honey contains sugar in a form that your body can use in the proper way: not like processed white sugar. Raw honey is usually cloudy and contains propolis, pollen, and royal jelly.
Pollen is most important as it is like a vitamin pill. It is loaded with vitamins, and minerals along with 100s of enzymes. There are more enzymes in pollen than scientists have identified for use in the body! Royal jelly contains the chemical acetate which your body turns into acetylcholine. This is critical for helping the nerves function properly in the brain. Propolis is an antibacterial agent that keeps the hive pure. It is a natural germ killer.
Make raw honey a part of your diet, and eliminate processed sugar.
Note: Starting about 105 degrees, heat starts destroying the enzymes of food. Around 125 degrees it is all destroyed. This is why heat treated honey and oil olive are worthless for nutrition. Please pay the extra money and get real honey and olive oil.
I suggest that you steam and not boil your food as much as possible. Streaming the food does not destroy the nutritional value. I have studied about “nuking” your food in the microwave oven. I cannot prove scientifically that it is harmful, but I just have a great uneasiness about “nuked” food. I do not own a microwave, and all my food at home is cooked the old fashion way.
I first learned about green tea in the mid-1990s. Since then I have become a regular user of it. The Asians drink green tea like we drink soda. I think this in the number one reason they have such low diabetes rate and other degenerative diseases. In Asian men prostrate cancer is rare while in America it is rampant. It appears that green tea protects men from prostate cancer. It is a boost to the immune system and brings general health to the body.
Green tea is tremendous source of polyphenols which are one of the highest antioxidants known. This is what protects against cancer and heart disease. I drink green tea everyday and do not drink soda. Stop drinking sweet type drinks and substitute with green tea. I use a concentrated mix with different flavors. The concentrate is very high in polyphenols.

These grapes contain resveratrol which like polyphenols is a tremendous source of antioxidants. Scientists knew for years that wine protected the French from their diet. It turns out the two sources for protection were olive oil and red wine. They identified resveratrol as the ingredient in the wine as the source. You can purchase supplements with resveratrol.
As you get older, the B-Vitamins are essential to maintaining your health. With age, the acid in the stomach dilutes, and it becomes difficult to absorb all the nutrients. With this condition, it is especially difficult to absorb Vitamin B12. A Vitamin B deficiency can cause serious problems including mental impairment, physical exhaustion and heart problems. The way to counter this problem is by having Vitamin B12 injected directly into the blood stream.
I found a source that has developed a way to absorb B12 sublingual. For years researchers knew the health benefits of cocoa. The problem was that cocoa naturally is very bitter. During the process to eliminate the bitterness, most of the nutritional value was destroyed. The nutritional element that was so important is called flavonoids. Flavonoids are antioxidants that greatly protect your body, especially the cardio-vascular system. Unfortunately, in the processed cocoa to make chocolate it is nearly devoid of the flavonoids. In addition, sugar and other items are added to the chocolate that makes if of little value.
Just recently, researchers found how to take out the bitterness without destroying the flavonoids! Now there is a product that is concentrated with flavonoids which greatly protects the heart. It is in a tea form without any sugar added. I drink this every day along with green tea. These are my two drinks as I eliminated any type of drink with sugar. I will be posting articles about cocoa.

Calcium and Magnesium
Calcium is critical for you body. I highly recommend that you take supplements of calcium. When you take calcium, you must also take magnesium. The two go together and you will have trouble if you take calcium alone. Calcium can cause binding. Always take calcium with magnesium.
There are different forms of calcium. You want to look at the label and use Calcium Citrate. It is the easiest for the body to absorb. As usual, what is best is more expensive, but it is worth it. The second form is Calcium Carbonate. This should be taken right after a meal as the digestive juice is the strongest. Calcium is not expensive and is well worth the investment into your health.
Butter, Eggs and Salt
Butter: For some reason these items are always under attack as being dangerous to your health. There are no health dangers from butter, eggs and salt. The danger lies in the substitutes. Butter taken in moderation, like most everything else, will not harm you. Margarine, the substitute, is one of the worse things you can eat. Margarine is closer to a plastic than a food. I highly recommend you NEVER eat it. It is my opinion that one of the greatest hoaxes of the 20th Century was that margarine is good while butter is bad.
When it comes to food oils, there is an old adage to go by. If it does not melt at room temperature do not eat it. Butter and olive oil are a liquid at a warm room temperature. Margarine does not melt and that is the way it circulates in the blood stream. It does not digest, and it circulates in the blood stream like a plastic. I believe it is one of the sources of heart disease as it damages the cardio-vascular system as it circulates through it.
Eggs: They are hated by the medical establishment. It seems like evil resides in an egg! They warn about the dangers of eating eggs and developing high blood cholesterol. Most people reading this article think that eggs are bad because they have high cholesterol. The problem is that eggs are also loaded with lecithin which is a cholesterol emulsifier! The lecithin is located in the yoke, and when you eat an egg the lecithin neutralizes the cholesterol. There is no connection between cholesterol in an egg and cholesterol in the bloodstream. If anyone knows proof there is such a connection, please email this information to firstname.lastname@example.org. Eggs should be eaten in moderation just like any other food. An egg a day will not harm your health.
A recent study found this about eggs:
“Egg contains a higher quality protein than protein found in meat, milk or fish. Furthermore, egg is a significant source of vitamins A and E, and B vitamins B-6, B-12 and folate, which are known to lower blood levels of homocysteine, an independent risk factor for heart disease.”
Why Eggs Don't Contribute Cholesterol To Diet
Salt: Nearly everyone believes that salt causes heart trouble. Excessive salt is bad for the body, but salt in moderation will not cause heart disease. Salt is needed for the body to function normally, and a highly restrictive salt diet is dangerous.
Table salt is made under high pressure and during the process all minerals are stripped away. Usually, iodine is added to the salt. Even salt that is advertised as sea salt can be processed this way. This is not the salt you need.
I use what is called Real Salt. This salt comes from Utah . It is not heat treated but crushed into a powder form. This salt contains numerous minerals including iodine, copper, zinc, manganese, iron, potassium, magnesium and many others. It tastes sweet along with a strong salt flavor. I use very little of this salt to obtain a salt flavor.

I already mentioned how important is Vitamin E. A few tips about this vitamin. Look at the label and natural E will read d-alpha tocopherol. The synthetic will read dl-alpha tocopherol. Notice the difference; the natural begins d while the synthetic reads dl. Avoid the dl form. Also the most common form of Vitamin E is the alpha tocopherol. Most Vitamin E is in the alpha form; however, there are eight tocopherols. I use the type that contains multiple types of tocopherols. The label will tell you if it just alpha or multiple.
I cook only with iron pans and stainless steel pots. I stay completely away from Teflon and the other type pots.
I have a gut feeling against nuking food. I read the studies about it that say it is safe. It is just I have such an uneasy feeling against it. My food at home is all cooked the “old fashion way.” I never owned a microwave oven.
I live in the country and had my water tested and it is good. Please, most municipal water systems are dangerous. They are loaded with many chemicals including chlorine and fluoride. Chlorine is only needed if the water is contaminated. Chlorine is a poison to your system. I highly recommend a good water filter system. I do not use one at home, so I never studied the different types. I suggest that you do not rely on the acceptable government levels of pollutants. Please spend the money and get a water filtration system that takes out both bacteria and chemicals.
I recommend that you immediately stop with the regular deodorants as they are loaded with all types of chemicals. These chemicals are directly absorbed into the blood stream. Just read the label and you will see how many chemicals make up a deodorant. I use a Thailand mineral stick. The stick has minerals that lay on your skin and inhabit bacteria growth which causes the order. I have been using the mineral stick for over 20 years, and if it works for me, it surely can work for anyone! I buy the mineral stick at a local health store.
I use hydrogen peroxide for everything. Years ago my family used it, but it seems everyone drifted away from it. Mix it with water for a 50 percent solution and use it as a disinfectant. I even use it as mouth wash and to brush my teeth (Do not swallow it.) The taste is not great, but it is wonderful for the gums. It is also very inexpensive.
For heartburn, acid indigestion or upset stomach, Alka-seltzer Gold is the way to go. It does not contain aspirin or any chemical that blocks the absorption of calcium. I keep it in my house, as I have a delicate stomach.
Speaking of aspirin, if you need pain relief use aspirin. Some people cannot handle aspirin so this does not apply to them. Tylenol and other similar products all do a job on the liver. For some people even moderate use of Tylenol will do severe liver damage. In the long run, Tylenol will destroy any liver. Please if possible use aspirin and drink plenty of fluids.
If you take antibiotics, immediately upon stopping take an intestinal flora builder. The antibiotics destroy the flora in the intestines. The doctor will tell you the flora will naturally be restored which is true; however, you do not want to wait. You need the flora for your heath. Immediately upon finishing the course of antibiotics, begin to restore the flora. Any health food store will sell the supplement.
Spiritual Aspect of Health
According to the Bible, fasting for spiritual reasons has health benefits. I think it is wonderful to fast for your health. The Bible does not define what to fast or how often, but it does encourage fasting. It appears the fasting is left between you and the LORD.
The Bible connects repentance, forgiveness and mercy along with fasting as a source of good health. It is very possible that people are physically sick because of hatred, anger, unforgiveness etc. Please search your heart and if there be any sin that has you bound confess to the LORD and ask Him to cleanse you of it. This could go a long way toward keeping and restoring your health.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
