Witness of Blood and Water

“And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” 1 John 5:8

When the Lord Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to pay the price for sin, the Bible says that blood and water flooded from His side.  A Roman soldier drove a spear deep into King Messiah’s side to make sure that He was dead.  The Apostle John, who was an eyewitness to this event, reported that blood and water poured out of the wound.  The blood and water were a witness to His death and the beginning of the New Covenant.

John 19:34,35 “But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.”

The Apostle John reported that there are three that bear witness in the earth.  These are the Holy Spirit, the water and the blood.  The water and the blood are directly related to the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross.  The pouring of the blood and water from the wound bears witness to His finished work on the cross.

The Spirit of God bears witness to mankind to the water and the blood that the Lord Jesus shed at His death.  God’s Holy Spirit bearing witness in a person’s heart is what leads to trusting in Jesus as Savior.

1 John 5:8 “And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”

When the Lord Jesus reigns from His magnificent house in Jerusalem , there will be a witness in the earth to the blood and the water.  His house will be the witness at that time.  The outside of His temple will have the witness of the blood on it.

Ezekiel 45:19 “And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.”

This will be the witness for all to see that King Messiah shed His blood to pay the price for sin.  What a witness this will be to what the Lord Jesus had to do for man’s redemption!

Colossians 1:20 “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”

The temple will also bear witness to the water that flowed from His side.  Messiah’s house will be the source of flowing water.  The water of life will flow from the sanctuary, under the foundation of the house, past the altar of sacrifice and out of the temple.  It will flow like a mighty river, giving life to all that are touched by it.

Ezekiel 47:1 “Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.”

(12) “And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”

The Holy Spirit in that day will bear witness to the people of the blood and the water of King Messiah just as He does in the earth today.  The everlasting gospel of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus will never fade away.  God will always have His witness to the New Covenant that was sealed by water and blood.  The temple will be that witness.

The waters of life that will flow from the future temple in Jerusalem are flowing now for the person who is thirsty for God.  Now is the time for all to accept the witness of the blood and the water in your life.  Whoever repents of sin and confesses the Lord Jesus as their Savior comes under the New Covenant.  God offers the water of life freely to all who will trust His King Messiah for eternal life.

The water of eternal life is flowing right now as a mighty river for all who are thirsty.  All who repent and confess Jesus as Savior and Lord come under the witness of the water and the blood.  They have assurance of eternal life with God.

Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

The world is now hurtling toward the darkest time in history.  Incredible wars are going to be fought over Jerusalem that will result in the killing of a third of mankind.  A false christ (messiah) will rise to power and deceive multitudes to damnation.  A temple will be built on Mount Zion that will be defiled by this false messiah.  All this will all occur immediately prior to the greatest time for mankind.

The greatest time for mankind will begin with the awesome second coming of the Lord Jesus with His Church, the “clouds of heaven,” to establish His kingdom.  King Messiah will build His magnificent temple in Jerusalem that will be a beacon for His glory.  The earth will be blessed.  Peace will reign on earth.  All the nations will come to Jerusalem to worship the King seated on the throne of David in His holy house.

We cry like the apostle John did some 1900 years ago, “Even so, Come Lord Jesus,” Revelation 22:20.
